If you are having problems with a Windows file reporting errors
then you can Restore it to its original by following the steps
below:
- Click the "Start" button, and click on "Run"
- In the "run" box type "Sfc /scannow" and press
"OK" at this point you may be asked for the Windows XP
Installation disk.
Just sit back for a few minutes while windows checks all its
protected files are intact.
The above procedure will verify that ALL Windows Protected files
are intact "i.e. are the originals from the cd". You may or may not
be asked for the Installation cd depending on whether the
installation files were copied to your hard drive during
installation.
